Thank You All For the Kind Words and Good Wishes

The heading says it all really, but when did that stop me repeating myself? 🙂

Thank you to everyone who, in the comments or on Twitter, was kind enough to take the time to offer congratulations on yesterday’s McConville celebration.

It is hugely appreciated by me and my wonderful wife too (who, I should make clear, is not a regular reader of the blog, being occupied with many far more important things). Val was astonished to see how many people, almost none of whom we have met in real life, offered us their good wishes. I think it is fair to say that there were almost tears shed!

Welcome One and All! A Reply to the “Obsessed”!

Every so often there is a burst of activity in the comments on the blog and some of the “old faithfuls” make their reappearances.

Now, unlike others I do not think this is a symptom of some great conspiracy hatched in Ibrox or in the Media House bunker. After all, I commend people like cam, carson, Willy Wonka, Steerpike and the rest as being of a commendably independent spirit.

Interestingly, in the past, these “busy days” have preceded some dramatic event at Ibrox …

WordPress, which is the platform for this blog, has a fun feature. It tells me the people who have made most comments in the last 1,000 on the site. (And as we are now over 85,000 comments since the blog started, these are statistics which reflect recent activity).

Bearing in mind that almost 1,000 of the comments include the word “obsessed” or “obsession”, it is rather ironic that the following list shows the top 7 commenters in the last 1,000.

I have been working away and earlier completed a submission of nearly 19,000 words for an upcoming case. Despite temptation, I did not illustrate it with suitable photos or clip-art images – some Sheriffs don’t like that. 😦

Saturday evening seems to be a time for interesting news on the official Rangers website.

A couple of weeks ago we had the incredible disappearing post on the Rangers website – after Ally McCoist blamed Charles Green and his “contempt” for the defeat to Forfar, and the prompt removal of all reference to Mr Green shortly afterwards.

Tonight sees an unusual piece appearing (at least for now) and I have some comments on it below. However, you will see that I have summarised and paraphrased the piece, the original of which can be read here, as a result of the appearance of a copyright message on the website. I did not notice one until today – perhaps Rangers have realised the value of its intellectual property?
