Good morning all!

The Rangers International Football Club PLC share price, having sat at around 54 or 55p per share for months, plunged this week to just over 40p. Does this actually matter? Not directly, as I will explain, but it cannot be ignored by those with an investment (personal or financial) in the company which owns the company which owns the assets and business of the football club.

It does not affect Rangers directly. Mr Green’s proud boast that RIFC was not funded by debt, sorry, “external debt” means that the shares are not mortgaged as security for loans or overdrafts. RIFC already has the cash/proceeds of the share sale. It makes nothing from public trading of issued shares. In that direct regard therefore the drop in price is meaningless.

The fan investors are not bothered either. They did not expect a financial return. They paid their cash to support and even to save “their” team. I doubt many supporters invested looking to turn a profit!

Next we come to the “non-fan” shareholders, though these need to be split into two groups. First we have the initial founding investors. For example Mr Green is understood to have acquired his shares, as did others, at 1p. Should Mr Green sell at 41p, for example, he still makes 40p profit per share. Of course this is much lower than his notional profit when shares were valued at over 90p but it is still a good return!

One assumes that Messrs Green and Ahmad will sell as soon as they are permitted to do so. After all, with both having left Ibrox (with clear names but under clouds) why keep the shares? Indeed Mr Green’s shares are already, supposedly, committed to new buyers. Of course the terms of such a deal could be affected by the shares sliding.

So who is affected and does it harm Rangers?

The people hurting will be the institutions which paid full price of 70p in the float. They can’t have expected dividends – football clubs rarely if ever pay them as the customers demand profits are used to make new signings, not pay the owners.

Institutions invest to make money. At some point the plan must be to sell the shares. The long view may make the present slump irrelevant and after all if Fulham can be sold for well over £100 million, who is to say RIFC shares won’t rebound to £1 or more. But that has rarely happened with quoted football clubs.

If the investors look to cut losses and dump shares the price will likely go down further.

That could affect the nebulous concept of “confidence” in those running the outfit.

However it also presents an opportunity. Falling share prices allow someone keen to expand their holding to do so now for far less than buying at the float. Will we see the price drop a bit more, then hold once it gets to the point where the buyer is ready to fill his boots?

In an entirely unrelated matter RIFC has today announced that the new director, Mr Easdale, owns 357k shares in the company. This does not accord with press reports that he had 6% of the shares but we must trust the official announcement.

Maybe time for me to buy a few shares? I would enjoy the chance to pop along to an AGM and ask a few friendly questions!

    Like Hot Cakes

Ally tells us today in his DR interview that TRFC have sold 32,000 STs – which is a massive increase of zero over the sales claimed nine days ago on the official website. At this rate, by the first game of the season they may have sold as many as 32,000.

    Ally, :20 July
“We’ve sold 32,000 season tickets so far and that number will rise. I’ve got to give those people a team on the park.”

    Official Website, 11 July
“RANGERS fans have continued to back the club this week as Season Ticket sales have broken through 32,000.”

    My Glass is Half Full

Charlotte has had her Scribd account closed as she focuses on Jack Irvine and he (presumably) calls on expensive lawyers. Some may see this is a bad thing – I see it as a good thing because she is clearly starting to reach the parts that SFA, SPL, INS, SFO, BDO, HMRC, SMSM (hahaha) have yet to reach. And of course, she is still able to publish documents as JPG images. I think Jack will find Twitter less easy to bully. Anyway – all together now – the bampots anthem:

You’ve got me under your skin.
You’ve got me deep in the heart of you.
So deep in your heart that I’m really a part of you.
You’ve got me under your skin.

    Go Charlotte !
    Go Charlotte !
    Go Charlotte !

I need to sign off for a while now – a long holiday touring Australia is coming up, meeting up with old friends and two lovely stop overs. Mrs Mcfc will be monitoring my bampotery so radio silence is almost inevitable. I hope your weather continues to be as good as mine will be – let me leave you with this thought:.

    Adulatio, Complacentiam, Pigritia

    I keep six honest serving-men
    They taught me all I knew;
Their names are What and Why and When
And How and Where and Who.
I send them over land and sea,
    I send them east and west;
But after they have worked for me,
I give them all a rest.
    Rudyard Kipling, writer and journalist

Seriously, what is wrong with the Scottish main stream media (SMSM) – have they totally forgotten how to ask questions about interesting topics. I speak of course about the 15% drop in RIFC plc shares this week and the apparent leveling out at around 42p.

On Wednesday the MSM reprinted large tracts of Craig Mathers ramblings on matters football and finance but often misquoted or paraphrased him into saying things he could not possibly say at present as CEO of the plc. CEOs must be very careful, for legal reasons, about what they say about the financial situation of their plcs – and Mr Mather was exactly that. However, the MSM misquotes or paraphrasing were not Hertzian in nature – that is intrinsically random and so self-cancelling – they were all in one direction – perhaps as intended or hoped by the speaker to give his target audience what they wanted to hear. “living within our means” reported the Herald – but that was only a fragment of a sentence – not even a clause – and certainly not the meaning conveyed by the whole sentence from which it came.

But regardless of the scrabble played with the press release – where were the questions from SMSM ? No one expected Paxmanesque grilling – but just maybe:
    What does this mean?
    Is this important?
    Is this worrying?
    Will the price recover?

Instead they have settled meekly for the preemptive “A Rangers spokesman said: ‘Rangers do not comment on the sale of small numbers of individual share transactions.’ ”

This would not be disgraceful cowardice in an oppressive police state where awkward questions lead to unspeakable consequences for individuals, but in a would-be independent democracy – is this what passes for journalism. Are these the people who will defend your rights, seek out injustice and protect your freedoms from the corrupt, venal and self-serving who swarm around the opportunities afforded by rapid change. Or will Sycophancy, Complacency, Laziness be the motto of the Scottish Union of Journalists in an independent Scotland.

    Adulatio, Complacentiam, Pigritia

It is so futile to shut down Charlotte. There are any number of ways to disseminate these documents in this modern world without having to go live in the Ecuadorian Embassy. It does suggest that Charlotte is getting close to releasing the most incriminating stuff though.
Why don’t they just give him his £1m p.a. in perpetuity and his executive seats, let Charles offload his shares and lets get on with this fabled new rights issue which is being whispered.
Lets see how much money Gav “the chav” Easdale and Dave “Tax Dodger” King are willing to put up to get Rangers onto the sustainable financial future that Walter was asking for.

    • mcfc

      @ed

That would be the photo of the century – CW smiling and waving from his director’s box – bullet proof, bomb proof, chemical warfare proof of course.

How smug would he be – would he wave his wad of £50s at them, would he wear a hoopy top – just to wind up all those who treated him so badly.

      Hope it doesn’t happen while I’m away – yes dear, coming dear . . . .

      • cam

Aussies don’t like spoofers,,,better leave yer Celtic scarf in the bin.
Don’t be a saddo and obsess about us when you’re on holiday.

      • Ed Paisley

        @Mcfc
Have a great holiday my friend. Remember to take extra care in the outback because I know that everything there is poisonous, venomous or stinging – but at least you won’t bump into Willy Wonka or Cam.
So take it easy and try to remember everything the legend Les Hiddins taught us back in the 90s.

    • cam

Yeah yeah Teddy,,,futlility and Celtic bloggers are bedfellows.Just you keep on obsessing about us night and day.

  5. Iain Mcg

    @mcfc,
Re Kipling. Yes, author, journalist and supporter (financially) of Carson and partition in the North of Ireland in the last century.
But he did write “If” and the Jungle Book so can’t be all bad.

  6. Monti

    @David
Do you believe Bomber Harris murdered innocent people? 🙂

    • david

      @Monti
      What is wrong with you?
Ive answered your question. Why are so concerned about Dresden and not the innocent citizens of Clydebank, many of whom would be Catholic?

Either you are lying bigoted cretin we believe you are, or a very disturbed teenager as demonstrated by the puerile nature of your posts. If you are the latter , please let us know and I will disengage from you immediately.
If you are not, then you are indeed a vile lying bigoted cretin.

Anyone with a miniscule amount of decency would not post the utter shit that you do.
Anyone with a shred of pride would have crawled away after so many people declared you a bigot in your own challenge.
You are supposed to be on holiday, yet post constantly.
What amazes me is how anyone can support you given the nature of your posts, raw tribalism I guess.
Let me restate a few points.
      1. Rangers behaved disgracefully
      2. Rangers are a phoenix club
      3. Rangers and Celtic both have a mixture of good and bad fans
      4. All this bigotry shit needs left in the past.

As I said before, lifes too short for all this nonsense.
However, for you, having had 3 chances and 3 warnings, its over.

      • Monti

Have you sourced the evidence that Bik is not my friend?

        • david

          Yes, shameless Monti.
          Its as simple as this.
You have been caught out on 8 claims in a row which, as you agreed , were LIES
          Notice a trend here?
What chance is there of another claim actually being true?

Easy way to settle the argument.
Since YOU are the confirmed liar, post evidence-any evidence – that you are his friend.
Or, what about a trip to Belfast at my expense to meet him, one Saturday?
          You can introduce me.
          How about that?

      • Monti

“all this bigotry shit needs left in the past”…..i look forward to reading your condemnation of Cam,Wanka,2sides etc…
What did you make of Graham’s comments about Jinky?

        • graham

          True comments about jinky
          You mean monti

        • david

          I have slated Rangers often.
However, I have NEVER seen a post from any of the posters mentioned glorifying murder; if one exists please point it out to me and I will have no difficulty in vehemently condemning it.
I hated Grahams comments about Jinky, without a doubt one of the most skillful players ever produced by Scotland, and a man who loved his country.
Some of this admirers didnt love him, however. I remember when he had the Double J in Hamilton, and continually gave free drinks to the tramps from the Auld Toon. When these stopped, they stopped coming.
Ridiculous that a man of his exquisite talents ended up working on his sites.
In the Jinky Scotland controversy, it should be noted that there were many great wingers at that time.
Jinky was the most skillful but Henderson was faster, more direct, better crosser, and an excellent finisher. He, along with Baxter and Law, were chosen for a World Select.
Peter Lorimer was around at the time as well, and for a winger was an amazing goalscorer with a lethal shot.

Singing songs about Lee Rigby as well. Just the craic though. 😦

    • Monti

Huns have a brass neck complaining about any songs being sung, Rangers pre death were a fkn disgrace with their songbook repertoire!
      Sectarian,bigoted & Racist…….wankers the lot of them!!!!

    • Monti

IF Celtic fans sang songs about Lee Rigby I would condemn them for doing so & would urge the club to make a statement.
What is your opinion on people who sing songs about killing Catholics?

Celtic fans are an absolute disgrace. My son was in tears today and we had to leave match early because of their intimidating and disgusting behaviour. I thought we left this type of vermin in the dark ages. Songs in support of the IRA and in mockery of Lee Ribgy made my blood boil.

    • cam

If the scum sang those songs then its incumbent upon every decent fan to report this to UEFA and get it on every English media site,,,total filth.
A good 3 month voyage to Botany Bay would be a good start.

      • tykebhoy

Oh I agree but given the quotes were both “liked” immediately by “Carsonsarmy1912” I suspect that they were plants by more troll employees of the tribute act thats about to hit a financial wall

They must have been English fans with the Glasgow team’s colours. Well that’s what happened at Berwick; right?

To be totally frank, that kind of behaviour brings shame to the club.

As I get older, I would be prepared to see both Celtic Park & Ibrox padlocked if the fans cannot act in a civilised manner.

It’s time to point out the louts and bar them from the game.

    • Ed Paisley

I agree Ray but the club should tell us what happened at the game (if anything) and how they are going to deal with it.

      • cam

Just like the poppy investigation Teddy,,,,big words,no action ,whitewash,,,Lawwell is a money mad coward who won’t antagonise his Tricolor waving rebels.

        Hi Ed

It appears that previous reports are malicious tactics in the style of Jack Irvine.

A report from an attending Celtic fan:

        http://celticjournal.org/2376/nasty-rumour-sees-celtic-fans-accused-of-more-wrong-doing/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

It would appear that we only need half of the padlocks referred to in my earlier comment 😉

        • @Raymilland.
It can’t be Jack Irvine mate. He is still hiding from Charlotte.
You know the type mate, legs it, then flicks the V when he thinks he is a safe distance , then keichs- himself when you catch him again.

          • Raymilland

            Hi barca

I always wondered how to spell ‘keich’, maybe like the Eskimo vocabulary for the many different kinds of snow; we should have similar definition for the forty shades of brown that gets discussed on here.

No names no pack drill 😉

        • 2 sides of the 1 coin

The Celtic and Brentford fans on Twitter and Brentford forums are wrong because a Celtic blogger has picked the 4 best quotes and put them up.

Sweep Sweep. Nothing to see here.

          Typical behaviour.

          • The Celtic and Brentford fans on Twitter and Brentford forums are wrong because a Celtic blogger has picked the 4 best quotes and put them up. ___________________________
Which differs from your post because…………?

            • 2 sides of the 1 coin

it differs because people actually heard the songs ya dafty. 4 people hearing things being sung is COMPLETELY different from 4 people not mentioning it.

              Deary me !

            • @2sides.
Maybe you should change your name to 1 side!
Invading the pitch, and flares, are wrong IMO. But a 7min clip of it does not appear to show an act of disorder, but more a good spirited affair, met by applause from the Brentford fans, who described the support as “amazing”
If there was any abuse of Lee Rigby, I will condemn it, as most right thinking folk will. I have seen no evidence of it, apart from the tweets you have posted. It remains to be seen if they are tweeting about an isolated incident, or even if they are true yet.
You can thank Jack Irvine and his propaganda machine on behalf of Rangers for that mistrust.
I understand there was 1 arrest, which is1 too many.
The English press, are not the Scottish press, and we will know the truth soon enough.
Unfortunately, that is not a stance that can be taken for granted in Scotland.

            • Raymilland

              Well said barca!

    • Ed Paisley

It looks like a lot of over exuberant kids to me. Where is the violence?
You should take care to read the message board on the Site – a local supporter says the away supporters were better value than the players. The only negative comments seem to be coming from Scottish people who have the characteristic semi-literate style of the bluenose.

Yes, I agree the supporters shouldn’t be setting off flares and running on to the field but this is a long way from a riot. Get a grip you guys.

    • Ed Paisley

If that’s true then it was a clever idea – cool down the silly kids. It’s an interesting point though Cam – with the mercury hitting 29 degrees I think the supporters went there in a party mood. It’s hard to take summer football seriously don’t you think? Now the Manchester riot is much much harder to explain – it was potentially the pinnacle of Rangers European football history (ignore that defunct ECWC shite) and the supporters preferred to fight and create serious disorder rather than savour the occasion. Help me understand that please – that is a sincere question. Beneath the shallow humour I know there is a good brain inside your melon Cam.

  17. Monti

If these stories about songs being sung about Lee Rigby, I condemn them completely!

She’s our Granny, she put us on the naughty step just to appease the peasants and then sneaked us back in for tea and Orange club biscuits.
Whats it like to be unwanted barca?,,,unloved?,,,Celtic and its fans are a stain on the nations fabric.

        • @Cam
You ARE her peasants mate. She has no respect for peasants. A neccessary evil on her land to collect the crops and put the toothpaste on her boys brush.
          It’s her enemies she respects!
She might be a nice lady, I don’t know, but she has been raised to think that way.
You may be a decent bloke, but you are her servant. You too, have been raised to think that way.
I, on the other hand, am not so lonely that i invent a fictitious granny, who is nothing to me, and I, nothing to her. but a free meal ticket.

    More comments from Brentford fans:

“I’m just back & struggling to contain the anger at what went on today. Our visitors sang songs celebrating the murder of drummer Lee Rigby, fights were provoked from early AM, balaclavas were worn, Provo flags and IRA chants continued throughout the game, multiple pitch invasions and finally Bees fans forced to take protection into their own hands thanks to the useless stewards and police. Celtic fans tried to smash the Brook rd goal and set off the sprinklers. I have seen harder firms than this lot over the years but never such a mass of prehistoric knuckle dragging sub humans with so little respect for others.

Bees fans should take credit for their restraint and for not aping this tribe of morons intent on causing grief. That said the highlight of the day was seeing a bees fan chase one of these clowns back to the way end when he invaded the pitch making sectarian gestures after their 1st goal – 100 metres in under 10 seconds!

BFC need to hold their hands up and apologise to fans for this own goal of a game.

Oh and a match took place, Celtic reserves vs a fairly weak Bees side (particularly 2nd half) we played pretty well considering – Harlee has a bad knock. Crowd was 8500 – my guess about 6000 Celtic.

Celtic FC your fans were a disgrace today, BFC must seek compensation!

I don’t mean to be flippant but 29 degrees and wearing balaclavas?
This person’s comment has the hallmarks of the usual anti-Scottish sentiment you find amongst lower league English teams supporters.
If there truly was the misconduct that was described by this “impartial” observer, then I would expect Mr Lawwell to investigate and issue a statement. If it means we have to stop playing these nonentities then so be it. Play bigger teams – more self policing – preservation of the supporters’ reputation for exemplary conduct. I have absolute faith in Mr Lawwell.

      • 2 sides of the 1 coin

No, I said if it turns out to be true – that there was widespread disorder including sizable numbers of people involved in offensive chanting – then Celtic must do their utmost to prevent it happening again, even to the extent of restricting the number of friendlies played against lower league English opposition.
But we must keep things in proper perspective and some of us have to set aside our normal partisanship- if there were 20 or even 30 silly drunks embarassing themselves with ridiculous chants then it is disappointing but it isn’t a national emergency.

        • @2sides.
Maybe you should change your name to 1 side.
There is a seven min clip on you tube, of the “pitch invasion” and a clip of a fan taking a bye kick for Zaluska.
I don’t agree with the pitch invasion, or the flares, but it does appear to be a good spirited affair, and was met with some applause from Brentford fans, who described the Celtic support as “Amazing”.

The Daily Mail [ remember the daily mail ] doesn’t report balaclavas, pro ira songs and banners. If ever a paper was pro royalty and armed forces and anti IRA IT’S the Daily Mail – yet not a mention of lee Rigby. I also looked at youtube as I had thought it was another ‘ Manchester’ – and lo and behold – some idiots running about a pitch – after the game – the locals seem to find it funny. Did I miss something? Is jimmy bee right – is it another achil island ?
Who knows. And yeh, there is only one side to 2sides – but his other side is a secret.

    @David
Let me clear up a number of things for you.
    1) The “lying” about living in the falkland’s & the Falls road was nonsense bullshit, which was light hearted Craic.
    2) you keep banging on about the “poll” which again was light hearted & the result did not matter in the slightest.
    3) David, after we fell out initially I still felt uneasy about some of your comments which suggested to me you didn’t sincerely bury the hatchet with me.
    4) I see you jump on my comments regularly, yet I never see your ‘outrage’ at the anti Irish/ catholic comments found on here regularly.
    5) you can’t claim to be impartial when you criticize me yet you don’t get offended by Cam or other tits like him.

C’mon it doesn’t get any worse than that!
Renounced by your own as a bigot!!

    • david

      @Monti
Let me clear up a number of things for you.
      1. Lying means lying, falsehoods, untruths, economical with the actualite, etc.
      Not light-hearted crack.
One of the results of constant lying is that people will recognise you as a liar and disbelieve every word you say. You are a liar
      2. You started the poll, and the truth is you were astonished to be comprehensively voted a bigot. It matters.
Didnt that register in your peabrain as a sign to tone down the bigotry?
      3. I dont give a toss what you think. I DID bury the hatchet with you- 3 times. Of course, you soon reverted to your lying bigoted self.
      4. Yes you do, all the time.
      5. Cam and others do not rejoice at murder, if they ever do, I will condemn them as well.

  26. cam

Right enough of this petty childish bickering Ted,you’re lowering the tone.
Now how will this latest debacle affect the CFC share price?
Stop going off at tangents Ted and talking about WWII and mens erections.

Thanks for that cam. So to reiterate. You wish Mr Boyle every success in his campaign to highlight the cases of imprisonment without trial for over 10 years in Guantanamo Bay?

I’ll be perfectly honest about the shoot to kill policy declared and carried out,,,i’m 100% behind it.They declared war, they were on active service and they met some dudes a whole lot more lethal than them.
Do i hear you registering your protest at terrorist murders and executions?
I also believe in capital punishment for certain crimes and if they ever need someone to drop a switch on child murderers like Brady and Huntley then i’ll put down my kebab for 30 seconds.

    http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ally-mccoist-can-trust-judgement-2068555

McCoist and Mather, both big fans of Bruce Springsteen,

first you have to believe in MAGIC*

*In Rolling Stone magazine, Springsteen explained: “The song ‘Magic’ is about living in a time when anything that is true can be made to seem like a lie, and anything that is a lie can be made to seem true. There are people that have taken that as their credo

    We Are Alive**

**Springsteen closes his seventeenth album, Wrecking Ball, with this campfire song for the oppressed and downtrodden, who having passed away have risen again, their faith rewarded. Springsteen’s Catholic upbringing has surfaced from time to time in his lyrics over the years, and Wrecking Ball is filled with biblical imagery. “I got brainwashed as a child with Catholicism,” joked Springsteen at an unveiling of the album in Paris , adding that he almost can’t help including references from the scriptures into his songs almost unbidden. “Its like Al Pacino in The Godfather: I try to get out but they pull you back in! Once a Catholic, always a Catholic.”

    • cam

MCFC is a big Springsteen fan,,,his fav. song is Brilliant Disguise.

A labored attempt at humour little Cam

Didn’t I tell you to invest in a shiny new racing bike and get your lungs filled with the sweet fresh air of the Highlands, before it is too late.

The increasingly rotten miasma, born of jealousy, rage, hatred and frustration emanating from the swamp of corruption that is Ibrox, is rotting your brain cells.

  35. Fra

The sheer desperation of 2sides to try to land a blow on the wonderfully constructed reputation of the Celtic family has not only been shown as a bigoted rant, but a desperate attempt to beschmirk our good name.

2Sides, please refrain from trying to drag my family down to the level of the gutter in which the sevco support inhabit. The desperation is becoming a joke. Your posts are nothing about helping the sorry lot of sevco but a continual tirade of mud slinging towards the world renowned Celtic family.

WHY? Are you jealous????? I could understand if you were but find it very unbecoming of your continual one-sided attacks. Run along and buy some shares in your new club but watch some spiv doesn’t fleece you along the way. It has been known to happen in the past.

    • gortnamona

      Yes Fra
By and large Celtic supporters are sportsmen and gentlemen, while Ranger’s support is predominantly composed of sectarian thugs and bigots.

The leader of the “you’re as bad as us” brigade has always been sneaky sleazy little Cam, but the damn mud just won’t stick. Very frustrating for the sad little clown.

Now a person with a good moral upbringing would try to raise his own standards instead of seeking to drag his neighbour down into the gutter with him.

Looking at the foul-mouthed sectarian city wreckers that make up the majority of the bluenose/bears/Rangers family, I do acknowledge that it will not be an easy task.

      • david

How come , on average , twice as many end up in jail as a proportion of the population?

        • cam

My theory, ludicrous as it may sound!!,is its due to the belief that a wee man can absolve you of your sins.
Now if i rob a pensioner to get drugs money due to the fact that i’m a low life junkie scumbag who deserves to spontaneously combust, then i know in my protestant heart that i’m going to hell,,,end of!
No wee middle man is gonna square that up with the big guy.

So there you have it ,crime stats solved!

You will have to do better than that mate. Saddo 1 side already trawled the net yesterday for some dirt to dish.
Is it the sore neck, of constantly looking up to Celtic that does it, Maybe it is the sight of your broken and bloodied fingernails, embedded in our coat-tails as you fall back into the grave. Perhaps as you polish your tainted titles, It is the bitter realisation that you will never polish the big eared cup, or that your fans will never be awarded FIFA & UEFA accollades and the affection of every visited European city.
Your team is deid mate. Don’t let the bitterness destroy you as well. Rise above it. The war is over. The rebels have won.
